Questa volta ci dirigiamo per le strade della penisola, a bordo di una Testa Rossa e ci sintonizziamo sulla stazione radio più cool degli anni ’80.
La musica negli anni ’80 ci porta inevitabilmente a pensare al synth, synthpop, genere musicale contraddistinto dall’uso di sintetizzatori e a quei luoghi paradisiaci americani dove l’eccesso è la regola ed essere cool un modo di vivere. Tutto il mondo ha tratto e trae tuttora ispirazione da questo emblema.
E’ il caso di Vincenzo Salvia, compositore potentino, da anni impegnato nella musica synth ed elettronica che ci porta con sé in un viaggio negli anni ‘80 con il suo ultimo album: “Auto Radio”.
L’album è una visione concettuale del connubio tra auto e radio. Un’esperienza vintage e singolare che porta l’ascoltatore a catapultarsi, con qualche nostalgia, in paesaggi di un’Italia anni ‘80. Toni vivaci, splendenti e brillanti.
La vostra radio si sintonizzerà su una fantomatica stazione dell’85, con tanto di speaker, jingles e notiziario traffico.
La scelta di mantenere la lingua rigorosamente italiana è il colpo di genio che quasi mai fino ad oggi aveva osato fare. I suoni synth con il bel canto all’italiana mai hanno avuto convivenza facile per cultura, tradizione e anche poco senso della sperimentazione.
Salvia ci riesce perfettamente, alternando il suo amore per la composizione all’intelligenza critica di lambire la parodia senza mai rimanerci intrappolato.
“Auto Radio” è un disco totalmente innovativo. Musica da viaggio che ricorda il videogame OutRun e la gloriosa corrente Italo Disco.
La Future City Records ha presentato l’ LP di Vincenzo Salvia sulla loro pagina Bandcamp, punto di riferimento per i professionisti del genere di tutto il mondo. La quantità di amore, devozione e l’autenticità dei suoni 80s è schiacciante e l’album si propone da subito come target di riferimento per gli amanti del genere.
Vincenzo Salvia è un lucano che sorprende in Italia e nel mondo con le sue composizioni e ci dice:
“Penso di essere molto fortunato, perchè appena iscritto alla Siae ho mandato il primo demo -cd, è piaciuto e sono stato contattato per firmare i depositi con Rai, Mediaset e Soundiva. Il mio lavoro funziona principalmente via internet e posta. Invio i brani tramite e-mail e mi spediscono i contratti da firmare. Non è quindi un limite essere lucano. L’unico limite può essere l’esibizione dal vivo delle band, perchè i locali dov’è possibile suonare tranquillamente sono pochi e devono anche fare i conti con la clientela che non è tantissima, visto il continuo spopolamento della regione”.

The music in the ’80s inevitably leads us to think synth , synthpop , music genre characterized by the use of synthesizers and those Americans heavenly places where excess is the rule and being cool is a life style. The whole world has learned, and still draws inspiration from this emblem .
It’s the case of Vincenzo Salvia , composer from Potenza , for years engaged in synths and electronic music that takes us with him on a journey in the ’80s with his latest album : “Auto Radio” .
The album is a conceptual view of the combination between car and radio. Vintage and unique experience that brings the listener to catapult himself , with some nostalgia, into the Italian 80s landscapes. Bright colors , shiny and bright .
Your radio will tune to a mysterious station in 1985 , complete with a speaker , jingles and news traffic.
The decision to maintain the strictly Italian language is the stroke of genius that almost never until now had dared to do. The synth sounds with the Italian bel canto never had easy cohabitation easy because of culture, tradition and also little sense of experimentation.

“I think I’m very lucky, because just joined the SIAE, I sent my first demo-cd, it was appreciated and I was contacted to sign contracts with RAI , Mediaset and Soundiva.
