Born and raised in a cloudy city in southern Italy, I began to approach music at a young age. At 6-7 years old, I played with my mother’s wooden spoons.
I loved playing “In the Air Tonight” on my straw chairs, but I had to stop when all my chairs broke. So, I asked my parents to buy wooden chairs and possibly change instruments, and I began taking piano lessons.
At the age of 14, I switched to guitar and played in various rock and metal bands while performing live concerts throughout Italy.
In 2004, I fell in love with electronic music and started my first one-man-band project, “Schatten”, which already had a touch of the ’80s.
In the summer of 2011, I changed the moniker “Schatten” to my real name, Vincenzo Salvia, and began working on music for TV commercials (Mediaset) and soundtracks.
My breakthrough came in the summer of 2012 when I released “Voyage”, my first synthwave album and officially entered the scene.
In 2017, I moved to Milan and began performing live in Italy and around Europe (Berlin, London, Malta, etc.).
2018 was a significant year for me as I was featured in the first episode of Stranger Things 3 with my track “Italian Gigolo”.
I also founded Sunlover Records, an independent label, with some of my friends, so please show us some support!
But now, the journey ahead is long, so turn on your radio (or Spotify) and enjoy the travel!
