How I ended up on the Stranger Things Soundtrack

back in 2019 i was making pizza at home and this email arrives saying my track italian gigolo was chosen for stranger things like when my uncle gianni won the lottery but lost the ticket and i thought it was a scam like those nigerian prince emails promising you money and instead it was actually netflix for real wanting my music mamma mia what a trip

A music supervisor reached out about using my track “Italian Gigolo” for… something.
I honestly thought: “Here we go, another student film with no budget.”
But I asked for details anyway.
Then the contract arrived.

STRANGER THINGS.

It took me MONTHS to actually realize what had happened.

JULY 4TH, 2019

I was on vacation in Nice, France.
Waiting for that episode to drop like an Italian waiting for pizza at an Italian restaurant abroad (you know the pain).
When it finally aired my phone EXPLODED.
Friends, fellow musicians, people I hadn’t heard from in years.

That feeling was… indescribable.

The fact that they found ME meant that working consistently in the synthwave scene since 2012 actually mattered.
And I learned: never say “impossible.”
It was probably the peak of my career (even though I’ve done other big things after).
Ending up in a show like that is insane.
It’s cool to mention at live shows, in collabs… it gave me confidence and awareness.

Still… I’m the same guy who just keeps playing and having fun. Just grateful.

My track “Italian Gigolo”, originally composed for the Gonzo Golden Globes compilation, was included in the first episode of the Stranger Things Season 3, specifically in the pool scene where Billy wants to give “swimming lessons” to Mrs. Wheeler.

You can obviously find it in the official Stranger Things Spotify playlist, but also in my B-Side album on Spotify, Bandcamp and the main digital stores.

now when i tell people i’m in stranger things they look at me like when my aunt maria said she met al pacino at the grocery store in little italy and nobody believed her until she showed the blurry photo and people still think i’m joking or exaggerating like my cousin who says he invented the carbonara recipe and i have to take my phone and show them the email and even then some ask if it’s photoshopped mamma mia che fatica
